WHO ARE THE LIONS?

Today's Lions are men, women and families who have fun volunteering together and share the satisfaction that comes from helping others. Lions are a network of almost 1.4 million people in over 200 countries who work together to improve the world. The Hudson Lions Club has been serving the community since 1964.

HOW DO WE SERVE THE COMMUNITY?

The Hudson Lions Club has been involved with many efforts across the community. They organize the local baseball and tee-ball leagues, an Easter egg hunt, and tree-planting programs. Additionally, some of the ways that the club provides support include:

  • Purchasing glasses for those in need

  • Assisting the Hudson Woman’s Club with Lunch with Santa and Love Basket programs

  • Assisting with the cleanup and serving of dessert at Camp Lions

  • Providing assistance to support blind/low vision members of the community

WHY VOLUNTEER THROUGH THE LIONS?

We believe that you can accomplish much more when you work together with others than alone. The Hudson Lions Club offers a number of community service projects you can participate in, or you can work with other Lions to develop new programs that interest you.

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

We need the help of passionate people. By becoming a Lion, you can help us:

  • Provide more hands for service

  • Gain fresh ideas for service activities

  • Spread enthusiasm for helping others

  • Raise awareness

WHAT WILL IT COST IN TIME AND MONEY TO BE A LION?

The Hudson Lions Club's meetings are held at the Hudson Fire Station (502 N. Broadway). Meetings are held on the second Monday each month at 7:30pm and are traditionally between 60 and 90 minutes. Club and community activities occur throughout the year and all we ask is do what you can to help us serve the village of Hudson.

If you are not able to attend a meeting you will still be able to know what is taking place as minutes are sent out to club members via e-mail and are available on the website under the Members area. Therefore, with Lions, you can commit as much time as you wish and as your schedule allows.

Financially, the Hudson Lions Club does not ask much of members, as we only ask for a modest yearly dues (currently $20) to help pay towards our expenses of being a part of Lions Clubs International.

HOW DOES SOMEONE JOIN THE HUDSON LIONS CLUB?

To join the Hudson Lions Club you can come to a meeting, reach out to a Lions Club member, contact us on the web site, or come to one of our activities and express your interest.
